Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the Public: The New Social mobile application ("App") operated by Public App Team ("us", "we", or "our"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the App.

⚠️ 1. Safety & Zero Tolerance Policy

Strict Content Guidelines: We are committed to providing a safe environment. We have a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding objectionable content and abusive users.

  • Prohibited Content: You strictly may not post content that includes nudity, pornography, hate speech, bullying, harassment, threats of violence, illegal acts, or explicit sexual solicitation.
  • Reporting Mechanism: Users can report any objectionable content or abusive behavior immediately by tapping the "Report" button located on every user profile, chat window, and story view.
  • Review & Ban: Our moderation team reviews reported content within 24 hours. Any user found violating this policy will have their content removed and their account permanently banned without prior notice.

2. Eligibility & Account Creation

By creating an account, you warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age.
  • You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.
  • You have never been convicted of a felony or a sex crime.
  • You will not create more than one account for yourself.

If you use our "Student Mode", you represent that you are a currently enrolled student at the university associated with the provided .edu email address.

3. User Generated Content (UGC)

You retain ownership of the photos, videos, and messages ("Content") you upload. However, by uploading Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your Content within the App for the purpose of operating the service.

You agree not to upload content that infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party. We reserve the right to remove any content that we believe violates these Terms.

4. Location Services

The App is location-based. By using the App, you consent to the collection of your geolocation data to suggest nearby matches and venues.

  • Precise Location: Used to check you into venues and show users within your immediate radius.
  • Control: You can disable location services at any time in your device settings, though this will limit the App's functionality.

5. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

The App may offer auto-renewing subscriptions (e.g., "Public Plus") and consumable items (e.g., "Superlikes").

5.1 Payment & Renewal

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period.

5.2 Cancellation

You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store Account Settings after purchase. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel your subscription.

5.3 Refunds

All purchases are final. Refunds are handled exclusively by Apple according to their refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.

6. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

"AS IS" Basis: The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

User Conduct: We are not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the App. You agree to use caution in all interactions with other users, particularly if you decide to communicate off the Service or meet in person.

Background Checks: We do not conduct criminal background checks on our users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
